On the June 24 episode of the All the Smoke podcast with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, Obama was asked about the current leader's continued focus on him. Without naming the man, Obama quipped, "I obviously have room in his head...a suite in his head," and said he doesn't understand the apparent obsession.

Obama suggested that the "filter of the phone" lets people post things online they would never say face to face. He added that when the two have met in person, the other man "doesn't talk like that" because he "knows better," and noted that after leaving office in 2017 he has been focused on other work.
