Confirmed Casualties

Initial reports confirmed the loss of two men and one woman: one man was 35 years old and the woman was 55. Later, a second woman was found and, despite resuscitation efforts and transport to a hospital, succumbed to her injuries. There is currently no information regarding whether any of the victims were German nationals.

Rescue teams continued their search into the late evening for the missing individual, but their efforts were unsuccessful. The operation involved search and rescue personnel, a helicopter, firefighters, medical teams, and police.

Warnings Ignored

Reports have indicated that some individuals managed to escape the waves on their own. Furthermore, it's noteworthy that officials had issued warnings about dangerous wave conditions just the day before. The natural pools, which are often regarded as a hidden gem by tourists, can transform into treacherous hazards during inclement weather: giant waves can sweep people into the open sea, and strong currents can make it nearly impossible to return safely. Just earlier in November, Tenerife experienced a similarly distressing scenario when numerous individuals were caught in perilous conditions, leading to three fatalities and 15 injuries. The island is once again left grappling with this tragic event.
