The animal relay

The adventurous envelope continues its journey as the dog leaps past the obstruction, hands the mail to a bird at a cliff, and a relay of creatures — a squirrel, geese, an otter, a swan, a fox and a deer — all play a part. An owl ultimately drops a dirtied envelope into Attenborough’s mailbox.

Heartfelt royal tribute

The King’s written message praises Sir David’s six decades of work, recalls their first meeting in 1958, thanks him for revealing nature’s wonders, and closes, "On behalf of the whole nation, I wish you a very happy 100th birthday," signed "Charles R." Prince William, seated beside Attenborough, also offered warm congratulations in a video tribute.
