Leavitt's journey spans internships and political posts: she interned as a presidential writer during Donald Trump's first term, served as assistant press secretary from 2019 to 2021, worked for Representative Elise Stefanik, ran for Congress in New Hampshire in 2022, then became national press secretary for Trump's 2024 campaign. In November 2024 she was named White House press secretary, becoming the youngest person to hold the role at age 27. She is married to real estate developer Nicholas Riccio and studied communications and politics at Saint Anselm College on a softball scholarship.
